How you will learn:

This qualification prepares learners to take on the professional role of a Compliance Officer, equipped to support organisations in navigating complex regulatory environments. Learners will gain the knowledge and practical skills to design and implement compliance frameworks, manage regulatory requirements, and support ethical governance across a range of sectors.

By the end of the programme, learners will be able to identify and interpret applicable legislation, define and maintain a regulatory universe, and develop and implement risk-based compliance plans. They will be confident in conducting compliance monitoring, compiling detailed reports, and engaging effectively with regulators and stakeholders.

The qualification supports the professionalisation of the compliance function and enables learners to either strengthen their role within an organisation or work independently as consultants once sufficient experience is gained. It also promotes a culture of integrity and proactive risk management in line with South African and international compliance standards.

Learn how to manage resistance, facilitate stakeholder buy-in, and lead compliance-related change initiatives within an organisation.

5.  Project Management (Compliance Officer)

Gain project management tools to effectively scope, plan, and deliver compliance initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.

6.  Generic Management Principles (Compliance Officer)

Develop key management competencies including communication, leadership, decision-making, and reporting in the compliance context.

Entry Requirements

To enroll in this qualification, you should:

✔️ You have achieved a minimum of NQF Level 5 qualification
✔️ You have at least 1 year of relevant compliance experience
✔️ You are currently working in a compliance department, environment, or role
✔️ You have a basic understanding of South Africa’s legal and regulatory landscape
✔️ You have basic computer literacy and general office skills (e.g., email, document filing, spreadsheets)

What to Expect from the Assessment Process:

✔️ Internal Assessments:
After each module, you’ll submit a Portfolio of Evidence demonstrating your understanding and practical application of the content.

✔️ Workplace Evidence:
You’ll compile supporting documentation from real or simulated compliance activities as part of your practical and work experience modules.

✔️ Assessment Preparation Sessions:
Facilitators will guide you through online preparation sessions to ensure you’re ready for formal assessments and EISA.

✔️ External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA):
Once internal assessments are complete, you’ll undergo the EISA conducted by a QCTO-appointed Assessment Quality Partner at an approved centre. This assessment focuses on the qualification’s exit level outcomes.

✔️ Certification:
After successfully completing the EISA, the QCTO will issue your official Occupational Certificate as a qualified Compliance Officer.

🧾 Note: The EISA is overseen by a registered assessor and administered at an accredited venue. The QCTO issues the final certificate upon successful completion.
