overview

This Occupational Certificate is an entry level qualification to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding in order to contribute towards supporting the functions carried out by the Risk Officers.  Risk Officers are responsible to manage the complete risk management process within an organisation. 

the purpose of the qualifications

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to be able to manage risk management plans in support of an organisation’s risk framework, which is generally the responsibility of Risk Officers. The Risk Practitioners assist the Risk Officers by undertaking or facilitating activities related to the implementation of the plans for managing risk in an organisation.

target group

The qualification is aimed at Risk practitioners, assisting Risk Officers by undertaking or facilitating activities related to the implementation of the plans for managing risk in an organisation. 

 Entry requirements

It is assumed that the person who registers for this qualification:

 
Has a NQF level 4
 Have at least two year’s relevant risk experience
 Is working in a risk practitioner role
 
Have computer and general office skills (filing,        email, etc.)

 Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

RPL for access to the qualification: Khulisane and approved workplaces may recognise prior learning against the relevant access requirements. Application forms are available from our offices.
RPL for access to the external integrated summative assessment: Khulisane and workplaces must confirm prior learning by issuing a statement of result or certifying a work experience record.

 Assessment

Internal assessment: Portfolio of evidence will be submitted per programme schedule after the training of each module. Assessment activities include evaluating all documentation produced during the process and questioning to test knowledge and ability to apply.  This assessment leads to entrance into the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA). 
EISA: The EISA is conducted by an assessor, through the relevant QCTO Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) at an approved assessment centre.  The QCTO issues of the qualification certificate. The EISA focusses on the exit level outcomes and associated assessment specifications. 

 Online contact sessions

You will attend online sessions with a facilitator for the training of each module, assessment preparation and work experience discussions.

Marianne Hendrikse

Marianne started her career in Risk Management in 2008. While working at a big petro-chemical company, she enrolled for a degree in Risk Management at UNISA. She qualified in 2010 and pursued her career in Risk Management. She joined Khulisane Academy in 2018 as facilitator and assessor for the Risk Manager Practitioner course. She also facilitated and assessed other short courses for Khulisane. ​
Marianne is involved with the activities of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) where she is part of different initiatives contributing to and promoting the role of risk management in South Africa and neighbouring countries. ​
Marianne believes that people working in a risk management role should have the opportunity to obtain certification, thereby expanding their knowledge and gaining better recognition in the workplace. ​
